WEDDING INVITATION PROCESS

Congratulations! I'm so excited you're here, and I'd love to be a part of your wedding planning experience. Once you've browsed the Wedding Collection and downloaded a price guide, you're ready to start the process of creating your dream wedding invitations! This process takes a minimum of 8 weeks, so please allow plenty of time for every perfect detail. Ready to get started?

1. GET IN TOUCH

To start the process, complete your Wedding Consultation Questionnaire. This will provide me with lots of information about your wedding day and stationery needs. If you like, you can also request a complimentary consultation to review papers, printing, and the options available for your invitations.

2. SAMPLES

You can request a sample kit in your Consultation Questionnaire. Your sample kit will include a paper guide and sample wedding suite, which allows you to experience the look and feel of the hand-selected papers and fine printing methods in person.

3. PROPOSAL & PRICING

I will send you a detailed proposal, showing the total investment for your order. This proposal can change, based on any design decisions you choose to make during the proofing process.

4. DEPOSIT & CONTRACT

Once we work out the details of your invitations, a $500 deposit and signed contract will reserve your spot on my schedule and officially begin your invitation order. I will provide you with a detailed timeline for you to review as well.

5. PROOFS

I will provide you with electronic proofs for you to review and request changes. All orders include three complimentary rounds of revisions. Based on your feedback and response times, the proofing process can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to complete. If you have ordered a custom design, this process can take 6 or more weeks.

6. APPROVAL

When we have finalized your proofs, you will provide your final approval and pay the balance due on your order. You are responsible for ensuring all quantities, wording, colors and event details are accurate on your proofs and proposal. Your proposal will be adjusted to reflect any order changes we made along the way. Your final payment will initiate the printing of your order, and no additional changes can be made once you provide your final approval.

7. PRINTING & SHIPPING

Flat printed orders take about 3 weeks to complete, and letterpress and foil printed orders can take about 6 weeks to complete. When your order is finished printing, I will review everything to ensure every detail is perfect. Then, it's ready to ship to you! All shipping is invoiced separately from your order invoice, and averages about $30 - $45 for wedding invitations. All shipments are fully insured.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q:   I am in a hurry! Do you offer a rush service?
A:   Yes, depending on availability and the details of your order. A rush fee will apply. Email me to ask about your specific timing at hello@jessicawilliamspaper.com.

Q:   Do you require a minimum order?
A:   I do not require a minimum order, but the average order ranges from $1,000 - $1,500.

Q:  Do you charge sales tax?
A:  All orders purchased and shipped or delivered within the state of Tennessee will be charged sales tax.

Q:  What shipping method do you use, and how much does shipping cost?
A:  I use either the US Postal Service (USPS Priority) or UPS shipping. If you have a preference, please let me know. All shipments are insured for the full value of your order. The cost of shipments varies greatly based on the weight of your order, but the average shipment of invitations is $30 - $45.

Q:   I'm looking for something incredibly unique, can you help?
A:   Yes! I love working with brides who are looking for fun and inventive options. Send me pictures and ideas, and we can talk about your options!

Q:  Why invest in custom invitations? It's just paper, and my guests are going to throw it away.
A:  This is one of the most common reasons I hear for cutting quality invitations out of budgets. However, one of the most saved items from a wedding, after the photographs, is the invitation and program. Your invitations are a true work of art and an investment in the memory of your day. This very important paper serves as the introduction to your wedding day and sets the tone of the entire event. It tells your guests what to expect - a casual and intimate affair, a formal and sophisticated evening or even a fun night of celebration. I offer budget-friendly options, like flat printing, and I can work with you to create a suite that fits your budget and your dreams.

Q:  Speaking of budget, a calligrapher does not fit within my budget. Can you recommend other methods for addressing my invitations?
A:  Digitally printed guest addresses are an affordable alternative to calligraphy. I coordinate the colors and fonts back to your invitation design, so that it's one cohesive suite. It also saves you time - you just provide me with the addresses, and I deliver your envelopes ready to go! Whatever option you choose, please don't use labels! You're investing in your invitations, so don't spoil them with big label on the front.

Q:   Since you design for Minted, why can't you price match their invitations?
A:   The experience you receive from working directly with me, the designer, is vastly different than the experience you have with an online retailer. I devote time and attention that bigger companies like Minted cannot offer, along with practically unlimited options for customization. I try to offer the best combination of pricing and service, making sure your investment is matched by beautifully crafted invitations. Trust me, it's worth it!
